Dns propagation

What is DNS Propagation? The Internet Service Providers (ISP) and some companies which host websites maintain a DNS cache system in order to avoid recurrent consultations related to the same website and it decreases the traffic in the network. so, when a webpage is consulted in those services which use this system, is done a DNS consultation on the internet and this is cached for a certain period for similar requests in the future. It means that when you alter the DNS's that your domain uses, those services keep consulting the previous DNS stored within a cache and you end up accessing the old addresses. When this cache is refreshed, usually between 24 hours (for domains which end with .br) and 72 hours (for domains such as those which end with .com, .org, .biz, etc), the system will consult the DNS on the internet again and will find the new addresses; Because of the propagation, we recommend that you change your domain's DNS's in any moment that few people access your website, for example on weekends. If you are migrating your Site to a different host, just cancel your old host after the propagation period.
